Lecture Series: Decolonizing Feminism
In recent years, the call to decolonize feminism has become a vital intellectual and political project. It challenges the assumption that mainstream, often Western-centric, feminist frameworks are universal. Instead, it centers the diverse experiences, struggles, and knowledge systems of women and gender minorities from the Global South, Indigenous communities, and racialized groups. This process critiques how colonial histories, imperial power, and racism have shaped dominant notions of liberation, gender, and equality. Decolonizing feminism is not just about adding more voices; it’s about fundamentally rethinking the foundations of feminist thought and practice to build a more inclusive, pluralistic, and truly global movement for justice.
We came across this compelling event series, which directly engages with these crucial ideas.
